CLASP Homes
CLASP is a very well respected and established non-profit organization based in Westport. We operate group homes and supported apartments throughout Fairfield County, serving adults with autism and related developmental disabilities .
CLASP began as a grass roots movement, started by a group of parents. Three decades later we serve over 80 people in 12 homes and 9 apartments. We provide critical supports to men and women ensuring that they are able to live safe, healthy and meaningful lives. Without CLASP many of our folks would be living in a nursing home, an institution, or a even a shelter. With our services, they are given opportunities to become valued, respected, and loved members of their community. With patient teaching, love and respect, each person we serve will be given a chance to live a healthy and rewarding life.
CLASP group homes and apartments are located in the towns of Westport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Wilton, Easton, Trumbull , Stratford and Shelton.
Part of our mission is to educate our neighbors about the people we serve, and the important services we provide. We believe in making people aware of the vital role we play in their community, and they will then be moved to become a part of the "CLASP Family"! That involvement can take many forms. We need financial contributions to meet the escalating costs of serving an aging population, coupled with decreasing government funding. We also offer wonderful opportunities for people to volunteer-- either on a committee, at an event, in our homes, or even to serve on our Board of Directors. Through these donations and volunteerism, you will help ensure that these essential services are provided now and into the future. With your help our folks will live real lives, with friends, and jobs, and hopes and dreams.
